Editorial Policies of Egyptian Electronic Publisher (EEP)

1. Overview

Egyptian Electronic Publisher (EEP) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scholarly publishing through rigorous peer review, ethical research practices, and transparency in authorship and editorial decision-making. Our editorial policies align with internationally recognized guidelines, including those of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).

2. Peer Review Process

All journals published by EEP follow a double-blind peer review process to ensure impartial evaluation of submitted manuscripts. Each submission undergoes:

  • Initial editorial assessment for originality, ethical compliance, and relevance.
  • Double-blind review by at least two independent experts in the field.
  • Evaluation based on scientific rigor, methodology, ethical considerations, and contribution to the field.
  • A final editorial decision based on reviewer feedback, with possible revision requests.

Manuscripts authored by editors or editorial board members undergo the same independent peer review process to prevent conflicts of interest.

3. Ethical Publishing Standards

EEP upholds strict ethical guidelines to ensure integrity in research and publishing. Our policies include:

  • Plagiarism Detection: All submissions are screened using anti-plagiarism software before peer review. Manuscripts with more than 25% similarity will be rejected.
  • Duplicate Submission: Manuscripts must not be under review or published elsewhere. Authors must disclose previous submissions or closely related work.
  • Authorship and Contributions: All listed authors must have significantly contributed to the work. Gift or honorary authorship is not permitted. Authorship disputes are resolved following COPE guidelines.
  • Data Integrity and Transparency: Authors must provide access to raw data upon request and comply with data-sharing policies.
  • Corrections and Retractions: EEP follows COPE guidelines for issuing corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern in cases of errors or misconduct.

4. Open Access and Copyright

EEP supports open-access publishing, ensuring that research is freely accessible. Authors retain intellectual property rights, but by publishing with EEP, they grant the publisher a license to distribute and archive the work.

  • Authors may deposit their preprints or final published articles in institutional repositories or personal websites, provided they credit EEP as the original publisher.
  • Articles are licensed under Creative Commons (CC BY-NC) unless stated otherwise.

5. Editorial Independence

EEP ensures editorial decisions are free from commercial, political, or institutional influence. Editors make decisions based solely on the scientific merit of a submission. Advertisers, sponsors, or other external entities do not influence content selection or peer review.

6. No Advertising Policy

EEP maintains a strict no-advertising policy across its website and all digital platforms. We do not accept any form of commercial advertisements, sponsored content, or third-party promotions. This policy ensures that our publishing decisions remain independent and are based solely on academic merit and research integrity.

7. Conflict of Interest Disclosure

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, academic, or personal conflicts of interest that may influence their work. Any potential conflicts must be addressed before publication.

8. Handling Misconduct and Complaints

EEP has strict policies for handling ethical breaches, including fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, and authorship disputes. Complaints related to ethical concerns or editorial decisions can be submitted to the Ethics Manager at EEP. Investigations follow COPE recommendations.

9. Long-Term Archiving and Digital Preservation

EEP ensures the long-term preservation of all published content through Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud and archiving with African Journals Online (AJOL).

10. Reviewer Guidelines and Responsibilities

Peer reviewers are expected to:

  • Evaluate manuscripts fairly and confidentially.
  • Disclose conflicts of interest.
  • Provide objective, constructive feedback.
  • Respect deadlines to ensure timely publication.

11. Compliance with International Standards

EEP follows ethical guidelines set by:

  • Helsinki Declaration (for human studies)
  • PRISMA (for systematic reviews and meta-analyses)
  • CARE (for case reports)
  • CONSORT (for clinical trials)

Egyptian Electronic Publisher (EEP) is dedicated to maintaining high editorial and ethical standards in scholarly publishing. Our commitment to integrity, transparency, and rigorous peer review ensures the credibility and impact of the research we publish.
